Top 10 Men’s Scarves for the Winter Season

Best Men’s Scarves 2015

Scarves have long been a tradition for over 2,000 years. The first scarf is believed to have been worn by Chinese soldiers in the 3rd Century BC and continues as a staple in most wardrobes today.

Here we look at the top 10 favourites for this Winter:

Red Tartan
The red tartan scarf is a classic and it looks like Christmas without being too ridiculous. The great thing is that it will work all winter long, mostly because red and black go with almost everything, and the style can be worn with a variety of fashion.

Look at: River Island for a Soft woven fabric, tartan pattern and tasselled trim

The Cashmere Scarf
A cashmere scarf is instant luxury for your neck. Even better if you get it in camel, one of this season’s most exciting colours.

Look at: Land’s End luxurious cashmere available at Debenhams

The Polka Dot Scarf
Polka dots are a traditional print for neckwear, but this year you should have some fun and try working with larger prints, while keeping the colours subdued.

Look at: Reiss for their ‘soft-to-the-touch’ Perkins black and grey, woven reversible design.

The Wool-Silk Scarf
If you’re looking for easy elegance in your next scarf, go for a wool-silk blend. It’s lighter, softer, and still very warm.

Look at: J Crew’s wool-silk tribal scarf which works well with all your best coats.

The Argyle Scarf
If you’re tired of tartan and plaid, explore argyle, the closely related pattern of intersecting diamonds. It’s still traditional, but just different enough to catch some attention

Look at: Pringle of Scotland’s Raker design, made from luxurious Merino Wool and Cashmere – it’s on the pricey side, but looks fabulous

The Oversized Scarf
The oversized scarf is the latest trend and a great way to add interesting volume to your winter look. Plus with all that extra material, you’ll get extra warmth!

Look at:  Next’s oversized Cable Scarf which is great value for money

The Striped Scarf
Horizontal stripes bring a sporty, collegiate look to your scarf and gives a very classy look to any outfit.

Look at:  Paul Smith men’s fine 100% wool signature stripe scarf with frayed ends – one of their bestsellers

The Silk Scarf

Ever tried a silk scarf? They are surprisingly warm and add an elegant and refined touch. And, with one of these, you don’t even need a tie….bonus!

The Geometric Scarf
A geometric pattern has a clean, modern look that only gets better when the patterns twist and turn for maximum effect.

Look at: Zara’s Geometric Design Scarf, in black and grey shades

The Novelty Scarf
Well, a novelty scarf is not your must-have wardrobe item this season, but maybe that’s the point. They are fun and work great in the cold weather, especially if you get the chance to build a snowman with the kids.
